Metal-Expo in Sochi

Alexey Efimov, Director General, Metal-Expo attends an annual congress of the Russian Union of Metal and Steel Suppliers (RUMSS) in Sochi. The congress brought together leaders of metal and steel trading companies as well as decision makers of steel plants sales departments. During the congress, delegates will discuss the state of things in the Russian steel industry, as well as the latest trends in development of the steel trading segment. In his welcome address Alexander Romanov, President, RUMSS pointed out that due to a number or events organized by RUMSS over the last few years focused on popularization of coated steels, long products, steel tubes, and aluminium products, consumption of such types of products in the domestic market had increased considerably. The RUMSS business program includes holding business meetings on the most pressing problems of the industry, as well as business seminars and conferences on all the aspects of the steel business usually followed by field trips providing distributers a perfect opportunity to see the most up-to-date facilities and establish cooperation with steel producers. This year upon an initiative of new RUMSS members the Union plans to launch programs of stimulating sandwich panels and beams manufactures. In addition to the business part, the congress program also includes field trips to Sochi Olympics’2014 objects.
