NLMK to Increase Galvanized Steel Production Capacity

NLMK Lipetsk, NLMK Group’s flagship production site, a Metal-Expo regular exhibitor, has embarked on a project to construct a new continuous hot-dip galvanizing line (HDGL-5) with a capacity of 450,000 tonnes of steel per year. The new line will produce high-quality steel for the construction, automotive, and white goods industries.

In 2019, NLMK signed a contract with Tenova (Italy) for base engineering and the supply of main process equipment. The start-up of the line is planned for 2022. Investment in the project will exceed RUB 12 billion.

Currently, NLMK Lipetsk coated steel operations comprise four continuous hot-dip galvanizing lines with a total capacity of 1.25 million tonnes per year and three pre-painting lines with a total capacity of 0.55 million tonnes per year.
