Ural Steel was Awarded the Gold Medal "Metal-Expo 2021" for Sheet Metal Made of Cryogenic Steel

Ural Steel (part of Metalloinvest) was awarded the gold medal of the 27th International Industrial Exhibition "Metal-Expo 2021" for the development and production of the first in Russia sheet metal made of cryogenic steel 0N6DMB.

Sheet metal with a thickness of up to 50 mm is used for the manufacture of storage vessels and transportation of liquefied natural gas. Its characteristics guarantee reliable operation of cryogenic devices and tanks at temperatures up to - 196OC.

Research activities on the development of an alloying system and integrated production technology, a comprehensive study and compliance of the metallurgical quality of the pilot batch of this rolled product were carried out jointly with scientists of the NGO "TSNIITMASH", "nIIHImmash" and "Cryogenmash".
