Mining and metallurgical companies are actively upgrading their equipment

In recent developments, metallurgists have initiated significant upgrades to their equipment, encompassing various sectors such as construction, road building, special-purpose machinery, heavy-duty vehicles and locomotives. This trend is evident in both mining and metallurgical companies, as well as in companies operating within the ferrous and non-ferrous metallurgy sector. This is understandable given the large-scale cargo transportation and complex logistics at full-cycle metallurgical plants. Each large plant handles up to 1,500 railcars of raw materials and up to 500 railcars of finished products on a daily basis. Ensuring the timely delivery of the correct product to the consumer is of paramount importance.

The modernisation of metallurgical facilities is evident in the recent headlines from MSS news: These include "Polyus replenishes the vehicle fleet at Sukhoi Log", "A new crane will appear at Olenegorsk Mining and Processing Plant", "New loading and delivery machines have been added to the fleet of underground equipment at Yakovlevsky Mining and Processing Plant", and "EVRAZ ZSMK has renewed its vehicle fleet for the amount of over 100 million rubles". "Four new excavators have been delivered to Lebedinsky Mining and Processing Plant over the last three months", "CZP purchased a self-propelled dump truck", "Metalloinvest upgrades the excavator fleet of Lebedinsky GOK", "EVRAZ ZSMK's sintering plant received a powerful vacuum loader", "Nornickel and BELAZ started joint development of underground equipment", "OEMK received a new universal loader".... New machinery has been acquired by Ural Steel, NLMK, KMAruda, Olkon and Mikhailovsky GOK, Kuzbassrazrezrezugol, Amurstal and a number of other enterprises.

This year, Metal-Expo will be hosting MetallTransLogistik'2025, a showcase of transportation and logistics services for mining and metallurgical enterprises. The event's primary objective is to facilitate the development of business and technical cooperation between cargo transportation operators, vehicle manufacturers and MMC enterprises. This direction is especially important today, taking into account the need to solve problems in the field of logistics and cargo transportation. The street space adjacent to the Expoforum Congress and Exhibition complex in St. Petersburg, where the metallurgists' forum will be held from November 11 to 14, offers a prime opportunity to place equipment to demonstrate all its advantages to the target audience from metallurgy and related industries.
